Our Beloved Community,
The London School of Racialized Leaders team has worked tirelessly in response to the domestic terrorism tragedy in our hometown as of June 2021. We are a team of first generation, immigrant Muslim daughters who have dedicated hundreds of hours towards relationship building/management, strategic planning, social media management and narrative building. Due to our social locations and identity markers, we need to spend significant amounts of time building social capital.
Alhamdullilah (all thanks is to God), we have connected with a number of incredible WOC and organizations who have offered guidance and support. We are in the process of grant writing in order to see our LSRL vision
come to life.
The compounded collective traumas have taken a toll on our team as we continue to provide advocacy work publicly and behind the scenes. Our mental health is in need of care as we continue to seek funding. Our team is taking on our responsibilities while also juggling paid work to cover our living expenses. That said, we do not have adequate access to mental health services.
We are asking our community to support our team's mental health fund in order for us to continue pursuing the community and advocacy work that we do. The funding will be directly allocated towards mental health services for our racialized leaders team.
We sincerely thank you for your support during these dark times.
