Emergency ‼️ We MUST FIND a SAFE LIVING Situation‼️

Aloha again,

I am adding to what I wrote a few months ago:
I had a clear vision recently that the rest of my grandsons high school years were going to be beautiful❗️I knew creating that vision would mean finding the perfect home.
After searching and praying for months to find the ideal living situation I was directed to a beautiful farm.

when we moved to the farm Elliott (my grandson) spirits soared. He was feeling confident, doing very well in school seeing his dreams come true!

What initially felt as though it would be a wonderful living situation was shattered within weeks.

I realized again that many do not understand or care when someone is raising their Grandson as a single grandmother....furthermore, few have the understanding of the depth of grief that comes with , took excellent care of yourself while pregnant.... carrying that my beautiful girl for 9 months. I know my grieving process was delayed until much later because I committed my life to raising Elliott when Sydney was killed.

The home I found mostly off grid, solar, catchment water, no chemical use on 13 acres seemed perfectly in line with my lifelong dedication and contribution to maintaining a sound eco system.

After being here a short time we realized the woman is a complete narcissist, as did others on the land.

Narcissist a description I was not aware of as an empath until a few years ago.

When we arrived farm work had not been done for several months. My Grandson and I worked over 100 hours for the her in the first 6 weeks. We sincerely wanted to help her catch up. We fell for her love bombing. I soon realized she wanted all work that needed to be done completed in 3 weeks.
impossible❗️THAT WAS NOT OUR WORK TRADE AGREEMENT.

All rent is paid to her in cash and she demanded a very large deposit. It soon became evident that she would never be satisfied, despite our willingness and excitement to improve her farm. Criticizing everything we did....Truly breaking our spirits. I was exhausted by her demands. My Grandson had NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS WAY BY ANYONE and she continued to demand more from us.

We must move and I have given her all of my money. She is attempting to have us leave immediately despite the fact that those actions are against the law and she continues to aggressively harass us.

The neighbor across the highway who has lived here for 25 years recently told me she has been treating tenants this way for over 20 years. Unfortunately I know many women who are experiencing this epidemic here!

Frankly it is incomprehensible how many landlords are mistreating their tenants with no solution visible in Hawai'i the ALOHA STATE.

Please help if you can

I want to break this pattern so my Grandson will be able to finish high school in peace!

*After over a year of looking for a new home we have found the perfect location. Elliott, my grandson and I have lived in 8 locations in the last 14 months. We have been safe, but it has not been easy.

The last 7 months we were camping on the land of wonderful people near the ocean. Our primary needs were always met. However, it has been quite stressful to keep the balance for my 16 year old grandson. Recently, we have found a new home that meets our needs perfectly.

Many do not understand the depth of the housing crisis in the Hawai’ian Islands. On this island alone there are over 15,000 people who are documented as homeless, many families are living in their cars.

One investor has over 200 Airbnb's.

I know this is true all over the country. After being a successful business woman for years it has been a rude awakening to see how many i never thought would be in this situation ARE!

Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine what we went through in the last 14 months being without a permanent home. All of our possessions are in storage.

The deposit and two months rent and a few other expenses are needed immediately.

Elliott the young man in the photograph is my grandson who I adopted and have raised since his Mother passed away when he was 15 months old.

I am now a 72-year-old Grandmother, I have faced numerous challenges since the loss of my daughter over a decade ago. I did everything in my power to ensure that Sydney had the support she needed to raise her incredible Son yet, unfortunately, her life was cut short when she was killed in a horrific accident.

Despite my life achievements and talents, I am again in need of assistance. I assisted in raising Elliott since his birth. He was 15 months old when his mother was killed. Following Sydney’s passing, I immediately adopted Elliott. I have been raising Elliott on my own with no assistance from family members since his mother's passing.

For the last 2 years I have been dealing with the severe effects of Ramsey Hunt Syndrome (a painful form of shingles caused by extreme stress with multiple side effects,) I am also experiencing back issues due to a severe fall, making it impossible to work.

There were many in-laws who were vehemently against Sydney keeping Elliott when he was born and prior to his birth. They did not support my daughter at all when he was born and have never recognized Elliott. This fact was devastating to Sydney and to me. It is imperative that children stay with their LOVING family!

Elliott is my number one priority, maintaining a stable home is imperative for both of us.

This is an EMERGENCY heartfelt request for financial assistance.
*The expenses are:
-Deposit and 2 months rent (total $5400) for the home we have found
-Car Repairs - much needed safety repairs to our vehicle and fees.
-Storage fees ($400 per month) I have paid this for the past 15 months - all of our treasured belongings are in storage, I am in the process of closing the storage unit.

*This is the second time I have posted this request. As you will see above I received several donations from many wonderful people over a year ago. Those donations assisted immensely initially. I am deeply grateful. Now that we have a home to settle in I will be able to regain ability for gainful employment. And Elliott will finish high school in a stable living situation.

Our family now consists of Elliott and our loyal companion, Cleopatra, our beautiful black mouth Catahoola who found her way into our lives.

Even though Elliott has gone through so much, I continue to be amazed by his strong soul, as he grows into an incredible young man. Raising him is such a privilege.

My unwavering commitment has been to provide him with as normal a life as possible and to create a loving and nurturing family environment. He is a Hawai'ian canoe paddler, Jr. lifeguard, practices Jeet Kun DO, a Marshall art developed by Bruce Lee. Elliott is a trusted reliable friend filled with Aloha. Hawai'i is our home.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating to our cause. When it's possible I will most definitely pay it forward!
Māhalo

Sincerely,
Deborah
