Help Support Matt Guyot’s Recovery Journey
Our beloved friend, Matt Guyot, is currently facing one of the greatest challenges of his life. After a long and difficult battle with progressive lung disease, Matt has undergone a double lung transplant at UCSF Medical Center — a life-saving procedure that marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope and healing.
Matt has spent the past year preparing tirelessly for this moment, doing everything in his power to stay strong and give himself the best possible outcome. His courage, determination, and unwavering spirit have been nothing short of inspiring to everyone who knows him.
While the transplant offers a second chance at life, the road to recovery is long and filled with hurdles. Matt will require extensive post-operative care, rehabilitation, and time away from work to heal and regain his strength. The financial strain of this journey — including medical expenses, housing, travel, and other out-of-pocket costs — is significant.
Matt is a fighter. He’s shown us time and again what true resilience looks like — and now, he needs our help.
We are raising funds to benefit the Matthew Guyot Special Needs Trust, a trust established in accordance with federal and California law to support the supplemental needs of Matt. This trust is designed to preserve Matt’s eligibility for essential public benefits such as SSI and Medi-Cal, while also providing for needs that are not covered by those programs. All contributions will be made directly to the trustee of the Matthew Guyot Special Needs Trust, who will administer the funds in accordance with the trust’s terms and appliable law.
Your support will help Matt with therapies, equipment, education, caregiving, transportation, and improving his qualify of life while maintaining vital support programs.
Thank you for standing with him. Your love and generosity mean the world.
