Help Us Support Margaret Burnett and her family

Hi! My name is Mary Kay! Margaret Burnett and I lived together during seminary back in the 1990’s and we’ve remained lifelong friends and fellow Presbyterian ministers.

I wanted to set up this GoFundMe account to help Margaret during her time of health crisis.

As many of you already know, in May 2023, Margaret was diagnosed with stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). She went through months of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy. TNBC is highly aggressive and challenging to treat.

During her recent 6 month scan, Margaret and Jason learned that her TNBC has metastasized quickly.

There is no cure for this cancer, and because it is so aggressive, Margaret’s family is in a place of shock that makes all thoughts and decisions heavier.

Margaret’s friends and I, wishing there was something we could do to ease some of this pain and the utter shock of this news, decided to contribute to a fund to help with her medical expenses, in-home nursing care, and basic family needs. We thought there are likely others who want to care for Margaret and her family as well and this is a good vehicle.

There are so many out-of-pocket and unexpected expenses necessary to support Margaret during this time, and future loss of her income certainly worsens the entire situation.
