My name is Mindy Mar and I founded MAR Animal Rehab, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing chiropractic, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for dogs and cats.
Every day, I see dogs and cats who desperately need physical rehabilitation but whose families cannot afford it. Seniors on fixed incomes, disabled individuals, veterans, low-income families, fosters, and even people from rural areas and out of state/country reach out to MAR Animal Rehab for help.
Animal rehab is a highly specialized field and difficult to find providers offering such services. The care we provide helps pets:
- Recover from surgery
- Prevent surgery that families cannot afford
- Improve mobility so they can walk, stand and use the bathroom on their own
- Avoid unnecessary euthanasia and continue living full, happy lives
- Pain management – reduces chronic pain without heavy reliance on medications
- Faster healing – promotes tissue repair after injuries, wounds, or neurological issues.
- Stronger muscles & joints – builds stability to prevent further injury.
- Better quality of life – helps pets play, climb stairs, or enjoy walks again.
- Weight management – safe, controlled exercise to reduce strain on joints.
- Improved bowel & bladder function – by supporting mobility and core strength.
- Slows progression of disease – such as arthritis, degenerative myelopathy, or hip dysplasia.
- Keeps seniors active longer – helps geriatric pets maintain independence.
- Supports rescue & foster pets – improves adoptability by reducing pain and improving function.
- Relieves caregiver stress – families feel supported when pets regain comfort and mobility.
- Alternative to costly medications or procedures – especially when families cannot afford surgery.
We regularly receive calls and emails from people across Southern California, Arizona, and beyond who are desperate for affordable rehab services. Without our nonprofit, many of these animals would have no other options.
But here’s the challenge: our nonprofit needs urgent funding to continue providing these life-saving services. Without support, too many pets will go without the care they need and families will face heartbreaking choices.
