Support Janella's Fight Back to Health

Update as of 6/2/24: Janella was intubated this morning and placed back on a ventilator for breathing support. She is also on sedation and may need to placed on paralytics, if needed. Please send all the healing thoughts and prayers you can muster. Janella and her family need your support more than ever.

To know Janella is to know love, laughter, humor, a friend, a confidant, an amazing cook, a wise momma, and a loving wife. She is a blessing to all who know her! To those who do know and love her - she needs your help!

In March of this year, Janella was hospitalized for pneumonia. She was placed in the ICU at Kaiser Antioch. At the start of April, she was placed on breathing support (an ETT) and a whole host of critical care medications. On April 7th, the medical team in the ICU thought there was no hope for Janella and she was scheduled to be placed on comfort care. But, don't you know the fire in that red hair worked it's magic and Janella fought her way back. The treatments, interventions, and prayers were all working!

By May 2nd, she was alert and oriented and on her way to start rehab in Walnut Creek. She was talking and laughing and participating in therapy! Most recently, she was even able to push herself into a supported standing position - unbelievable! She has been funnier than ever and entertaining the kind staff at Rossmoor Post-Acute.

During this last week of May, there has been a setback and she is back in the ICU (at Kaiser Walnut Creek this time) on high-flow oxygen and the pneumonia has returned. With this setback, Janella and her family need your help more than ever.
