From Martha Paredes:

With heartfelt gratitude, thank you all for your generosity, prayers, and support. I pray that God returns your kindness many times over for the compassion you have shown us during this incredibly difficult season.

On December 17, my husband, Hugo Paredes, underwent open-heart surgery. In the early hours of December 18, he experienced a cardiac arrhythmia that led to complications affecting his brain. He is currently stable but remains in a very delicate condition. He is receiving therapy to help regain movement in his arms and legs, and his medical team continues to support his breathing with a ventilator. We are taking each day as it comes, holding on to faith and hope for a miracle. While the doctors have shared difficult expectations, we continue to believe with all our hearts.

No one is ever prepared to face something like this, but we are doing our best to remain strong and hopeful. Donations will help support our family with essential day-to-day living expenses while my husband remains in critical care, allowing us to focus on his recovery during this challenging time. Knowing such compassionate, caring people gives me strength during this time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your humanity, your support, and your kindness.
