Rebuild HD Laundromat in Minneapolis!
Donation protected

Following the brutal murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police officer on the evening of May 25th, 2020, thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest and make their voices heard. The peaceful protests were overtook by riots on many streets in the city and mainly on Lake Street where multiple minority owned businesses operate. One of those businesses is owned by young entrepreneurs Helen and Dawit. After 10 years of hard work, Helen and Dawit had managed to acquire a laundromat in January 2020 , HD Laundry. The business is located at 2112 E Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55407 and employs 6 part-time individuals. Over the last few months, the owners have invested highly to make the place better and bring a sense of belongingness to the community.
Unfortunately, during the two consecutive days of riots, the laundromat got vandalized, looted, and destroyed before the building was set on fire. Now with all the additional investment and all the damaged equipment and burning of the building, they learned that the INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER all the costs of the loss. They are now left with a huge financial burden and stress.
We ask for your help during these difficult times to donate whatever amount you can and share the info to others in your circle as they can help too.
Of course, we cannot forget to keep George Floyd in our hearts and pray that justice will be served!
