I am writing to you today with a heavy heart but also with hope that sharing my story will help me find the strength, compassion, and support I need to keep going. For the past five years, I have been living with an HIV diagnosis. It's not easy to open up about something so personal, but the truth is that my journey has reached a point where I cannot manage it alone anymore.
When I first learned of my diagnosis, I was terrified. My mind raced with questions, doubts, and fears about what the future would hold. Would I be able to live a normal life? Would I stil be able to work, to dream, to plan for the future? I tried my best to hold on to hope and to remind myself that with modern medicine and proper care, people with HIV can live long, meaningful lives. But as the years went by, reality hit me hard.
Managing this illness every single day has been an uphill battle physically, emotionally, and financially. Each morning begins with meditation. Sometimes, I wake up exhausted before the day even starts. The side effects nausea, dizziness, muscle pain, and fatigue often make it hard to even get out of bed. But I push myself, because I want to keep living, to keep fighting. I remind myself that this condition doesn't define me, even if it tries to control so many aspects of my life.
Unfortunately, the struggle is not limited to my health alone. Without stable work, medical insurance, or consistent income, the costs of living with HIV have become unbearable. My medication, doctor visits, and lab tests cost hundreds of dollars each month. Rent and utility bills pile up faster than I can manage. Every time I think I'm catching up, another unexpected medical expense sets me back again. It’s like I’m running a race that I can never finish, no matter how hard I try.
I’ve tried everything within my power to stay afloat. I've taken on small jobs when my energy allowed it, borrowed money from friends and family, skipped meals to save for prescriptions, and stretched every dollar as far as possible. But I've reached a breaking point. The constant worry about whether l'll be able to pay rent, keep the lights on, or afford my next doctor's visit has taken a toll on my mind and spirit. There are days when I sit quietly and try to hold back tears. I think about all the people who've been kind to me throughout this journey.
But now, I need more than words. I need help to survive. Getting support right now truly means the difference between stability and losing everything I've fought for.
The donations I receive will go directly toward essential needs such as medication, doctor visits, rent, utilities, and food. These may sound like simple things, but to me, they are the foundation of hope and survival.
Living with HIV is not just about taking medication, it’s about fighting stigma, dealing with exhaustion, and facing uncertainty every single day. It’s about trying to stay positive even while carrying a burden that never really goes away. Many people don't realize how much courage it takes to keep showing up each day, to keep believing in better days even when the world feels like it's closing in. I am not ashamed of my story anymore. I am learning to embrace vulnerability because I believe that honesty and courage can open the door to healing not just for me, but for others who might be going through similar struggles in silence.
By sharing my truth, I hope to raise awareness and remind people that compassion can make a real difference.
Every day I tell myself — I’ve made it this far; I can keep going — but I can’t do it alone anymore.
This campaign is not about pity. It’s about survival, strength, and community. It’s about the belief that nobody should have to face illness and poverty in isolation. It’s about remembering behind every story like mine, there is a person who still dreams, still hopes, and still fights to live with dignity. I dream of the day I can look back and say, I want to be able to pay this forward— to help others who find themselves where I am now. To remind them that help DOES come, that life can still be beautiful, and that no storm last forever. Please, if you can, lend a hand today. Your donation could mean the difference between despair and stability, between fear and peace of mind. Together we can turn this chapter into a story of Hope, Recovery, and Renewed Strength.
From my heart to yours, thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for caring. Thank you for believing that every life no matter the circumstances, is worth fighting for.
