Our beautiful friends Guil and Erin have had their world turned upside down.
At just 38 years old, Guil suffered a sudden stroke and is currently in the Neuro ICU at Westmead Hospital facing a long and incredibly difficult road ahead. While there is hope, his recovery will require extensive rehabilitation, ongoing medical care, and significant adjustments to daily life and their home.
Anyone who knows Guil knows how devoted he is to his family. He is a loving partner to Erin, a proud and hands-on dad to their little boy Liam, and a passionate soccer player who has always brought warmth, humour and kindness to those around him.
In an instant, Erin has found herself navigating the unimaginable - supporting Guil through recovery while also caring for Liam and carrying the financial weight of their household during this incredibly uncertain time.
As many of you know, recovery from a serious stroke is not only emotional, but financially overwhelming. The costs associated with specialist care, rehabilitation, time away from work, medical expenses and future home modifications will be immense.
We are hoping to ease even a small part of that burden so Erin and Guil can focus on what matters most right now: Guil’s recovery and their little family.
If you’re able to contribute in any way, no matter how small, it would mean the world to them. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page and keeping them in your thoughts is equally appreciated.
As Guil’s recovery journey unfolds, we will continue to update this page as more becomes clear around his rehabilitation needs and the support this beautiful family will require moving forward.
Thank you for supporting this beautiful family during the hardest chapter of their lives.
