Support for Brians family
Donation protected
On June 15th 2025, devoted father and dedicated ER doctor Brian Wai Lin passed away unexpectedly from complications associated with a heart condition.
With his sudden passing, his children Isaiah (13), Elliot (10),
- and Daphne (5) are facing significant changes in their lives in addition to the arduous grief work that lies ahead. Brian's number one priority in life was his children. He was dedicated wholeheartedly to their growth, stability, and well-being. He was not only an involved and loving protector, but also a significant provider for the kids' education, medical, dental, and extracurricular needs.
Isaiah (13) is a gold honor roll student, and budding soccer star on a traveling club team. He receives regular recognition for his dedication and determination. Last year, he was nominated runner up MVP for his commitment to the team, and his raw skills.
Elliot (10) loves to create in real life and in his brilliant imagination. He is also a gold honor roll student, plays drums at the Magic Flute in addition to swimming for the Terra Linda Orcas.
Daphne (5) is a force of joy who requires afterschool childcare in addition to her ballet, and art classes
Espresso Lin (age 12 months) the magical wonder-dog will have veterinary and dog walking needs so she can continue to comfort the three kids.
In these difficult times, when family and friends are most needed, we have set up a GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden and to help pay for daily costs of living, childcare, educational, extracurricular, and healthcare needs. These funds will be dedicated to cover imminent costs both forseen and unforseen for Isaiah, Elliot, Daphne & Iris
In addition to being a loving father, Brian was an ER physician who worked tirelessly on the frontlines of the pandemic, and participated in the response efforts to 9/11, while he was a medical student in NYC. Brian also pioneered the Kaiser Longitudinal Integrative Clerkship, a mentorship bridging UCSF and Kaiser San Francisco, while also continuing to lecture locally and internationally. Brian was also a beloved neighbor, colleague, friend, partner, son, brother, uncle, and dedicated Capoeira-ista. It goes without saying that Brian lived his life to the fullest in every possible way.
Brian would always be counted on whenever any of us were in need. He would give you the coat of his back if you were cold, or lend a helping hand no matter the personal cost. Now we are asking, it is our turn to support his kids as they mourn and navigate this new road without him.
Thank you all
