I am reaching out to each of you to assist my friend, Ahmed Mansour, to defray the costs of a camera, laptop, hard drives and equipment that was burnt to ashes in a horrific house fire last week.
On April 21st, Ahmed was working on a documentary at his friend’s house in upstate NY. The house caught ablaze at 2am Eastern time from a chimney fire. He and his Bard Professor friend Robert had 15 seconds to get out alive, leaving his lap top, cameras, hard drives and everything else to be consumed in the flames. Thank God, he and his friend are OK, but it leaves Ahmed without the means to continue his craft. He has moved oceans and nations to pursue his passion in filmmaking and the quality of his work is reflected in his amazing documentary” Brooklyn Inshallah”. His important work must continue.
The cost to replace his equipment exceeds 5k. As his friend who believes in his work, I am setting up this campaign so we can show him our emotional and financial support in this trying time.
