Ellie, our 10-year-old pup and beloved “quality assurance supervisor,” recently had unexpected knee surgery. While we’re so grateful the surgery went well, it came as a complete surprise and unfortunately, our insurance didn't cover it due to it being considered a pre-existing condition. As Ellie begins her recovery, we’re also facing some necessary changes at home to keep her safe and comfortable long-term. Our deck is raised off the ground, and up until now, she’s always used the 13 steps to go in and out. After this surgery, stairs like that are no longer a safe option for her at her age.

To support her mobility and quality of life, we’ll be renovating part of our garage to add a new exterior door, along with secure outdoor fencing so she can easily and safely access the yard without needing to use the stairs.
