Hello! We are the Electrolights and we need your help. We are a First Lego League (FLL) school team from Buffalo Grove, Illinois representing Aptakisic Junior High School. FLL is a robotics competition for middle school students. We have earned a spot at the American Robotics Open Championship in FLL in New Jersey, a national-level competition with many teams from all around the country. Unfortunately, this competition comes with a great cost as registration fees and hotel costs are quite high, and we’d highly appreciate it if you could monetarily support us. If you chip in more than $50, we will give you a shoutout on our online blog: Electrolight’s blog.Any donation above $100 will get their name printed on our poster, which will be shown at the event. If you donate $300 or more, you will get your name printed on our t-shirt. *this all counts for business.

Who we are

We are a First Lego League team with more than 2 years of experience. This season, we earned the Champion’s Award at our local qualifier tournament, the 1st Place Innovation Project Award at Sectionals / 6th place standing, and the 3rd Place Innovation Project Award / 5th place standing at the Illinois State Championship and an invitation to compete at the American Robotics Open Championship in New Jersey. We were also ranked as the 5th best team in all of Illinois as a result of our performance at the State Championship.

Fuel Our Journey

This season, our team has designed, built, and programmed a robot to tackle this year's FLL Submerged robot games, and raced through intense competitions. Our hard work has paid off, earning us a spot at Invitationals, where we’ll compete against the best teams in the USA. But getting to New Jersey isn’t as easy as programming a robot—it requires funding for travel, lodging, and competition fees. Your support will help us:
