Dear Friends, Family, and Generous Strangers:
I’m reaching out to you today on behalf of my best friend, Christy Carsey (many of you in Gainesville may still know her as Christy Morrison / Schutt), who is courageously battling Stage 4 HER2+ breast cancer. Christy is an outgoing, vibrant woman who loves to travel and explore. She’s generous, kind, and has been an amazing friend to me and so many others. A devoted wife to Brett and mom to Zach, step mom to Emily and Keaton. Christy has always gone out of her way to help those around her, including myself, countless times. Now, she needs our help.
Christy’s journey began with a small knot in her breast. Despite a mammogram and reassurances from a local doctor, who diagnosed it as a cyst and drained it without further testing, the true extent of the issue went undetected. Tragically, a year later, the cancer was discovered after it had spread to her lymph nodes and beyond.
Adding to these challenges, Christy was abruptly let go from her job with little explanation shortly after sharing her diagnosis. This has created significant financial stress during an already overwhelming time.
Currently undergoing chemotherapy at MD Anderson, Christy remains determined to fight. While her condition has been deemed end-stage, she is exploring additional treatments that could extend her life and improve her quality of time. Her husband, a firefighter in Bryan, Texas, has been working extra shifts to provide for their family amidst the mounting financial strain.
Christy is resolute in her fight, but she cannot do it alone. Your support could make an extraordinary difference in her life. Funds raised will help with:
• Covering medical expenses, including those not covered by insurance
• Supporting travel and related costs for her care
• Easing the financial burden on her family so they can focus on her health and well-being
• Accessing innovative treatments that could extend her life
Every prayer and every donation, no matter the size, is a step toward giving Christy the chance she so desperately deserves. If you’re unable to donate, please share her story with others who may be able to help. Together, we can give Christy hope and support as she fights this relentless disease.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for standing with Christy in her battle.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Page Klement
