Onyx's Campaign (for Cindy and JR)

Donation protected
For those of you who may not know, just last week on the morning of Sunday May 7th, our most precious 8 year old gentle giant has met an unfortunate outcome after having unexpectedly suffered gastric dilation/volvolus (Bloat) followed by a twisted stomach causing for any food in the stomach to remain stuck and left with the stomach’s inability to pass blood through its lining’s vessels preventing circulation leading the stomach to blacken.

Fortunately Onyx was rushed to the hospital on time for doctors to perform the necessary surgical procedure to flip the stomach back to its original position. During the operation, half of his stomach was found to be dark-purplish black in color, but luckily the other half was found to be much lighter in color and recoverable.  The surgery seemed to be a success.

After the surgery, Onyx began dealing with inflammation of the abdomen, intermittent fevers of 105 degrees, arrhythmia, blood in the urine, lesions, severe infection, and the inability to physically move on his own.  As a result, Onyx had to go back to the ER on multiple occasions only to meet false hopes of recovery.

This Thursday late evening, Onyx had another major surgery and was in critical care for 2 days, battling to live after doctors found a 4x4 hole in his stomach. With vet bills reaching close to $20,000 we wanted to reach out to family and friends to help JR & Cindy with the significant costs.

After thinking about the psychological and physical impacts of a major home remodel, having recently had twins, and having this distressing experience spontaneously begin Mother’s Day morning, we decided to set up a GoFundMe account to help with this unexpected financial hardship while attempting to save Onyx’s life as he continues recovering at the Hospital.

Ryan and I have personally known Onyx since the day he fit into the palm of our hands. He has just been one of us...was even a groomsmen our wedding ....Anyone that has met Onyx knows just how truly special he is...Onyx has been apart of our family and we love him soooo much. He still has so much more life to live and snuggles to give

Please help in supporting Onyx’s battle as he continues to fight to recover. Anything will most definitely help. Thanks to all in advance for your support.
