Asante’s Relocation and Healing Journey

Who This Fundraiser Is For
This GoFundMe is being created on behalf of my best friend of over 20 years, Asante—a mother, teacher, and deeply loved member of our community. Asante is the kind of person who brings warmth and joy to everyone around her. Her laughter is contagious, her heart is generous, and her strength is unwavering.

She is a devoted single mother to three amazing boys, ages 11, 9, and 5, and a passionate educator who gives her all to her students every day. Whether you’ve known her for years or just a moment, you’ve likely felt the light and love she brings into the world.

Now, she needs us.

What Happened
On Easter Sunday, Asante was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted in her own home by a man she thought was a friend. Her trust was shattered, her safety was taken, and her world has been turned upside down.

Because of an ongoing legal case, we cannot share all the details. But what we can share is this: she is not safe where she is. The very place that should be her refuge has become a constant reminder of the trauma she endured. And worse, her children are there with her—living daily in a home that reminds her of the trauma she endured.

Why We Need Your Help
We are asking for your help to urgently relocate Asante and her children to a new, safe home where they can begin to heal. The funds raised will go directly toward:

  • Breaking her current lease
  • Paying a security deposit
  • First and last month’s rent
  • Moving costs and necessary supplies
  • The start of and ongoing therapy

Every dollar will make a direct impact in helping her start over in a space where she and her boys can feel safe and secure and begin the long process of healing—emotionally, physically, and mentally.

How You Can Help
Donate: No amount is too small. Every contribution brings her closer to safety.
Share: If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and networks. Visibility is everything.

Let’s Help Asante Begin Again
Let’s come together and lift up someone who has lifted so many. Asante is a mother, sister, daughter, teacher, and friend. She is someone who has always shown up for others—and now, she needs us to show up for her.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting.
