Support Ahimsa Animal Sanctuary UK 2025

Hi, my name is Louise and I am the founder of Ahimsa Animal Sanctuary UK.

Ahimsa is a new micro Sanctuary in Essex, home to rescued pot bellied pigs, in a beautiful rural setting. We have big plans to rescue more pigs as we expand, and to create a dedicated area for chickens and turkeys rescued from the brutal animal agriculture industry.

After creating the Sanctuary from scratch last year, which was expensive, time consuming and a very steep learning curve, we are ready to prepare to rescue more animals.

In order to do this we have created this fundraiser as we need to fence off another area of land to be able to separate and integrate new residents. This is an expensive project, but it is very exciting as it will enable us to offer a forever home to more animals in need.

Our vision and mission: The Sanctuary name comes from Ahimsa, the ancient Indian principle of nonviolence which applies to actions towards all living beings. It is a key virtue in Indian religions like Jainism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism. Here at Ahimsa we apply this principle to all human and non human residents and guests, we have created an oasis of loving kindness and calm, in a beautiful setting.
