Sandy and Terry are loving grandparents, warm-hearted, and selfless members of the Danville community and active members of the Lives Changed by Christ (LCBC) Church. After they both experienced very serious physical injuries, they need support from the community where they have lived their entire lives.

On January 10th, 2026 Sandy awoke at 2:30 am and made her way to the kitchen during a low blood-sugar epidode. Due to a dizzy spell, she fell to the floor and landed on her left knee, breaking her left femur just above her replaced knee. She called out for my dad, but due to his declining hearing, he didn’t hear her. My mom endured five hours on the cold floor in excruciating pain before my dad found her. She was rushed to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, where doctors stabilized her and performed a full knee replacement. After surgery, she was transferred to Grandview Nursing Home for in-patient physical therapy where she is currently.

Just days later, on January 17th, Terry slipped on the steps outside their home after a snowfall. He hit his head and broke several ribs. Thankfully, a neighbor heard his calls for help and called an ambulance. He was also admitted to Geisinger and will be soon transferred to Grandview for in-patient therapy.

With both of Sandy and Terry requiring in-patient physical rehab, their 6 year old granddaughter, Aryel, who lives with them full time, is now staying with Sandy's father temporarily. These back-to-back accidents have made it clear that their home needs urgent repairs and modifications to keep them safe and allow them to continue caring for my niece.

A portion of the funds raised will go toward out-of-pocket expenses like medical bills, extra child care, in-home care, and any medical equipment not covered by insurance.

The rest will be used for critical home repairs and modifications so my parents can safely age in place and provide a loving home for my niece.
