Nyssa is a courageous 11-year-old little girl fighting many different battles. We are still finding out medical diagnoses as we travel to different hospitals to try and get answers. We know she has hypotonia, gastroparesis, celiac disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, tracheomalacia, failure to thrive, BRWD3 gene mutation, neurogenic bladder and bowel, common variable immune deficiency type 2, ADHD/ADD, ODD, anxiety disorder, and a learning disability. We are still trying to figure out her motility issues.
She has been on TPN for over 2 years now with no real end in sight. She is currently hospitalized with another central line infection. She has started translocating bacteria from her gut into her line. This is the second time this type of line infection has occurred. This time she has 3 bacterial infections she is fighting. She is currently very sick, and it has been causing blood levels to drop. Her WBC got as low as 1.7, RBC and H&H started to drop, and her platelets got as low as 31K. She's had 3 platelet transfusions so far before emergency surgery.
The reason I set up this fundraiser is to help with medical expenses, hospital expenses, traveling costs, food, and any other costs that can arise unexpectedly. I wasn't able to work for an entire week due to Nyssa being so sick.
I understand many people are in hardship; any donation helps or share to spread awareness.
