Munendra's story :
I am Munendra Singh, a seasoned mountaineer,
paragliding pilot and a mountaineering instructor from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) in Uttarkashi, with over six years of experience in the Indian Himalayas. I am writing to seek your generous support for a mountaineering expedition to Mount Bhagirathi II (6,512 meters) in the Gangotri region, commencing on June 15, 2025.
This expedition is dedicated to promoting clean and drug-free Himalayas while paying tribute to Maa Ganga, the sacred river that sustains millions.
Expedition Objectives :
- The Bhagirathi II expedition aims to combine mountaineering excellence with a powerful environmental and social message. The Gangotri Glacier, the source of the Ganga, faces threats from pollution and climate change.
- Our mission is to Keep the Himalayas Clean: Conduct a zero-waste expedition and organize clean-up drives to remove litter from the Gangotri region.
- Promote a Drug-Free Himalayas: Raise awareness about substance abuse prevention, inspiring youth to embrace adventure and healthy lifestyles.
- Tribute to Maa Ganga : Honor the river’s cultural and ecological significance through media campaigns and community engagement.
