Hello Friends and Family- Near and Far

First, I would like to say from the bottom, middle, and top of my heart THANK YOU for all of your love and support since 2017.

My journey has been unfathomably horrid and yet I am still here. 

That is in part because of your friendship, generosity, and deep belief in me.

I was very ill in September and reached out and let my parents know that I wanted help, that I want to live, and that I will do anything. They whisked me up and created miracle after miracle for me to be in my desired place, NY. All of my doctors are here in NYC as well as top quality care and evolving medicine.

I was admitted to NYU Langone and have been treated for cachexia, depression, and attempting to get control of my myoclonic seizures. These seizures occur with every voluntary movement, rendering activities of daily living impossible without around-the-clock care.

I am blessed to have such a loving family that believes in me and such dedicated friends.

Very dear, local friends have been a huge resource of possibility, navigating the system and guiding me on what is available while understanding the need to become a New York resident so I can heal and become whole. It’s been enormous. I am grateful for another chance.

However, it has been a huge financial strain to have my mom here for many weeks (instead of working) and intermittently with my many family members. The financial toll on my family and on me has been unthinkably large. But this real support of love and belief has made all of the difference in this chapter.

Luckily, I am now a NY resident and have insurance here which will open many more doors of rehabilitation and healing. Of course, I'm sad to leave Maine. It’s my heart's home. But I came to New York for healthcare and I am giving it my all, fighting hard to live in my new body and being. 

I am currently awaiting confirmation that I will be transferred to a Rehabilitation Facility in NY.
