I’m Cllr Dani Hunter, the Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon for the civic year 2025–26. As part of this role, I have the honour of choosing good causes to support throughout the year—causes that are close to my heart and make a real difference in our community and beyond.
This year, I’m raising funds for three incredibly worthy causes:
1. Stratford Family Club
The Stratford Family Club runs inclusive baby and toddler groups across the town every weekday, offering vital early years support and a welcoming space for parents and carers. The groups promote positive mental health, build connections, and ensure that everyone—whatever their background or circumstance—feels welcome and supported.
2. Welcombe Hills School Trust Fund
My son attends Welcombe Hills School, a dedicated special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school. The Trust Fund supports the incredible work the school does to enrich the lives and learning experiences of children with additional needs, providing opportunities and resources that go beyond the basics.
3. Ward 12 at Birmingham Children’s Hospital
Ward 12 is the specialist cardiac unit caring for children with heart conditions. My daughter recently underwent open heart surgery here, and the care, compassion, and expertise shown to her—and to us as a family—were nothing short of extraordinary. I want to give back to the team that gave us so much.
Any support you can give—whether through donations, fundraising, or simply sharing this campaign—will go directly to these three charities and will be deeply appreciated. Together, we can help them continue their amazing work.
Thank you.
