Habari! Karibu! Hello! Welcome!
Strong Lifted Community Organization is a non-profit organization based in Arusha, Tanzania. It was created by women to support other women, men, and children. Strong Lifted was founded by Eva Boazi and Joyce Beda, two kindhearted, caring, and passionate Tanzanian women who wanted to make a difference in their communities.

Established in early 2019, Strong Lifted has helped their community through providing medical care to people in need in rural areas of Arusha. They have a support group for women who are HIV positive or have experienced immense trauma. By working to increase gender equality, and teaching English and health classes they help empower women. Furthermore, they have helped change the lives of children in Arusha through arranging for them to be sponsored and opening the doors for greater opportunities later in life.
Strong Lifted has partnered with Oyana International who assists with the funding of the re-usable pad project, and IVHQ who provide Strong Lifted with amazing volunteers who help make many of their programs possible. Strong Lifted plan to continue to support their community and create better medical care and opportunities for success. Eva and Joyce have devoted their time into creating an organisation that would better the health and well being of local women, men, and children.

Currently, the organization is dedicated to empowering women who live with HIV in vulnerable environments. Strong Lifted provides education and resources to combat the stigma of HIV/AIDS in Arusha, Tanzania.
Strong Lifted provides a safe place for women living with HIV to share experiences. Counseling is provided to help the women find their inner strength, confidence, and empowering them to find happiness and comfort in living with HIV.

With the help from international volunteers, Strong Lifted is able to provide education about health, HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, gender equality, human rights, business, English, and skills for income such as making handmade products. Imara also participates in community outreach by providing education and resources in churches, schools, and homes.

In 2016, 1.4 million people were living with HIV in Tanzania; over 33,000 deaths occurred that year. Women and children are disproportionately affected by HIV in Arusha.
The stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS in Arusha, Tanzania is an ongoing problem and a challenge due to lack of education and awareness that has existed for generations. This affects their rights in health, work, school, and community settings.
Unfortunately, it is common for those who disclose that they are HIV positive to be shunned by their village, friends, and family. The women are left with no way to support or feed themselves or their children. Strong Lifted fights the stigma and helps to provide income opportunities for women living with HIV.

Strong Lifted has done great work, however, to continue to provide HIV positive women in Arusha with education and resources, they need funding to assist the women with the following:
* local transportation to Strong Lifted and hospital visits
* food and water
* supplies such as pens, paper, & dry erase markers
for educational classes at Strong Lifted
* materials for handmade products
* clothes
* medications
*sponsoring a child
*medical outreach
*reusable pads
Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated! Just 20 cents can provide a one-way ride for a woman to Strong Lifted or the hospital!
