Jaeden's Medical Fund

I'd like to tell you about our friend, Jaeden. He's a spunky, fun-loving 5-year-old. His mom, Amanda and I have been friends for about 20 years now. She is one of my bests. Several weeks ago, Jaeden started suffering from horrible migraines. I'm talking about screaming in pain, puking, sensitive to light and sound migraines. After several doctor visits, including urgent cares and chiropracters, Amanda decided a trip to Children's ER was necessary.
After an MRI, the doctors at Children's discovered a mass in Jaeden's brain. First, they surgically inserted a drainage tube. They followed up a few days later with a pretty intense surgery to remove the tumor. And, it was successful! The entire tumor was removed with minimal intrusion on the brain stem.
Since the surgery, Jaeden has had a rough recovery. He's been experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort. The doctors and medical staff at Children's have been wonderful to him and his family. He is certainly at the very best facility possible. Jaeden is doing a lot of sleeping - which I imagine is helping his body to heal.
Unfortunatly, the pathology results revealed bad news. His tumor was classified as a medulloblastoma - which is the most common malignant pediatric tumor. He's classified in the standard risk category. That means there will be some radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
While Amanda and Dan do have medical insurance, there will undoubtedly be out of pocket expenses (medical bills, medications, supplies, TOYS - anything to put a smile on Jaeden's face). Amanda and Dan are also taking time off of work to be there for Jaeden and his big brother Gavin. I need to tell you that Amanda and Dan did not ask me (or anyone) to start this page or for any monetary help. I am simply doing this because they need to focus on doing whatever it takes to get Jaeden healthy and to make sure Gavin is happy and healthy. The last thing they need to worry about is money.
So, please consider a donation of any size to help cover any expenses caused by this horribly unfortunate illness. Any money donated that is beyond their medical needs would be used for other financial obligations or to use as a family to bring joy and happiness to their lives.
Prayers and positive vibes are also greatly appreciated. Send them Jaeden's way and share his story so that others do the same!
