Kickback for a Cause: Benefiting NC GreenPower

The 2022 Summer Interns of Strata Clean Energy will be holding the Kickback for a Cause Event where all proceeds will go toward NC Green Power's Solar + School program! The fundraising event will be held on Thursday, July 28th from 5:00-7:00pm at the event space outside of Hi-Wire Brewery in downtown Durham.

 

This Solar + Schools program is important because it directly impacts the youth in our community. Schools that win Solar+ Schools grants, receive a 5-kW solar array, a weather station, data monitoring and a STEM curriculum with training for teachers. Providing kids with the opportunity to gain an education in renewable energy allows them to understand the importance and vital role of clean energy in our grid. This can directly build a stronger community in the classroom and workplace.

More information about NC GreenPower Corporation (NC GreenPower): Formed by Advanced Energy in 2003, NC GreenPower is a nonprofit whose mission is to expand public knowledge and acceptance of cleaner energy technologies to all North Carolinians through local, community-based initiatives. In 2015, NC GreenPower launched a pilot program to support solar PV installations at K-12 schools, and this pilot was approved as a program by the North Carolina Utilities Commission in 2019.
