August 9 I came home to a nightmare. My house had been vandalized by my ex, with a sledgehammer.
Every room was impacted — anything that was glass was shattered and scattered across the house, with shards embedded deep in my carpets and flooring. All of my Major appliances were destroyed beyond repair.
This wasn’t just damage to things — it was damage to my safe place.
I’ve lost essential items I use every day just to live normally. Everything down to our shampoo and conditioner was ruined.
On top of that, he took a sledge hammer and put it through my walls, exposing insulation, poked holes in the ceiling, and put divots in the flooring, and many personal belongings were ruined. I lost countless gifts from former students, from family and friends, and from my daughter in the firepit out back that blazed all week while Lina and I stayed away trying to feel safe at my parents' house a few miles away.
After the first generous donations came in, I was able to get the house livable.
But I still need a lot of help.
Professional cleaning to remove glass from flooring and carpets (some will have to be replaced entirely). We are still wearing house shoes.
New bedding, new furniture. Replacement electronics.
MAJOR Repairs to walls, fixtures, and other structural damage.
Home Security improvements so we can feel safe in our home again.
I’ve always tried to manage life’s challenges on my own, but this is more than I can handle alone.
Every contribution will go directly toward repairs, replacements, and restoring a safe, stable home environment for my daughter.
If you can’t donate, sharing this link is another way to help me start rebuilding my life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and support during one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced.
