Stand by Stevie: A Life-Altering Journey

My name is Christina and I've been friends with Stephanie "Stevie" since 1999. We worked together and formed a very close bond quickly. I'm asking for help on behalf of her and her family.

On June 9, 2025, she took a tragic fall down her basement stairs, causing a severe traumatic brain injury in addition to breaking her sacrum. She was unconscious at Harborview Medical in Seattle for 4 days. She spent the next month at the hospital.

She was moved to a rehab facility on July 9. She faces a very long recovery. She still cannot walk, talk, or eat properly. She does recognize immediate family but overall is confused and can only mumble.

Her husband just turned 85 (only 5 days after her fall). Stevie was still working 2 part-time jobs to keep bringing money into the house as all they have is their Social Security and Medicare.

Obviously, now that income will never be brought back as Stevie will need much more care than her husband and family can provide.

I am creating this GoFundMe knowing that times are tough for everyone right now, but just hoping that if you are able and inclined to help this loving woman and her family even a little, it would mean the world.
