Help a Dad's Fight with Cancer!
Hello, My name is Steve Brandenburg, and I am a Husband and a father of four children. I have two boys(grown and on their own) and two girls ages 3 and 9. My wife, Yasmin, is pregnant with another little girl, and she is due to arrive in this world on December 14th. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4A Squamous Cell Carcinoma in my throat, which is complicated with severe lymph node swelling inside my neck and around my ears and jaw. I will require a minimum of 7 weeks of radiation/chemo treatment, 5 days a week, and then possibly extensive surgery on my neck to remove the lymph nodes. Fortunately, my doctor(s) say the cancer is very treatable and I have a 80% chance of survival. To be honest, I am not afraid about surviving the cancer. I know I will win this fight, but the financial effects have already hurt me and my family much more than my illness. With all of the co-pays and patient responsibilities and gas and expenses for all of the commuting to and from the doctors' visits I have fallen deeply behind on common expenses such as rent, utilities and groceries and all other financial needs that occur for a family who is not wealthy. I am still working full time and will continue to work until my doctors tell me I can no longer do so, but I need help to keep a roof over our head, maintain a home with running water and electricity and heating and air. I need help paying for the enormous amount of gas it takes for all of the commuting to/from the doctors. I need help buying groceries and common household necessities. I need help making all of this life experience less painful and stressful on my pregnant wife and my two little angels, Morraea and Sarah. I'm not asking for a new car or a new house or help checking off my bucket list. I just want my wife and girls and newborn to-be to live a normal, comfortable existence while I fight my battle with cancer. That's all I want. Any donation will help, and if you cannot afford to donate then just pray for us and please share this message with as many people as you possibly can. From the bottom of my heart...thank you.
