Our dad, STeve Duncan, was the kind of person who never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went—whether on his bike, at a concert, or spending time on ADV. Trip’s name was no coincidence. A double-entendre that continues today and forever. His love for motorcycles, music, winding roads, and the people he met along the way shaped a life full of stories and memories no one person will ever know every one. Each person I speak with has a new story. He kept every card, drawing, concert stub, custom-made sticker, and map from us, and you, his friends. You all truly became his family in Dallas, almost every state, and across the world.
After his passing, my sister Jenni and I have been working to honor his memory and take care of the many details. Some tediously necessary, some fun and enlightening. I recently spent two weeks in Dallas, sorting through his belongings and sharing time with his closest friends. The costs of travel, transporting his cat, Zia. (includes the vet visit and a plane- kennel) Shipping his keepsakes has added up quickly. For two weeks I resisted asking for help, but now I must.
We want to bring his treasured memories back to California and host a casual get-together for everyone who loved him—from ADV to Hi-Line, and beyond. Most of all, his kitty Zia needs to come to her new home with Rebecca. Zia is our new sister because she was my dad’s cat child. Life is a trip, and we want to celebrate the journey STeve shared with all of us.
