Steve Trout Memorial & Medical Fund

Anyone who knows Steve and Lisa Trout know what a wonderful couple they are.  Married for 32 years, they complete each other.  They always refer to each other as "My Soulmate"; and they truly meant it.  It was always a pleasure to be around the two of them.

The last five years have been challenging for Lisa, she had her own bout with breast cancer but faced it head on and beat it, always upbeat and never showing any signs that it was getting her down.  Always going out of her way to help others even while she was going through this struggle.

Lisa has had her hands more than full with her elder mother who has needed more and more attention in the last few years.  Whether it's doctor's appointments, buying and taking groceries to her mom, or moving her mother to a new residence; Lisa is always there, even when she's dead tired after working a full shift.  Again always upbeat and always willing to help others.

Then a little less than 2 years ago her Soulmate, Steve, found a lump in his side.  Obtaining the medical treatment he needed was a long and frustrating ordeal, but 1 year ago he had surgery and the cancer was removed.  The cancer surgery was successful but he almost immediately began having complications and has been in pain pretty much since the surgery.  He returned to the doctors and emergency room many times trying to resolve this.  It was eventually discovered that Steve had blood clots in his lungs and legs.  He was placed on different medications and forced to carry an oxygen tank with him so he could breath, never getting any relief from the medications.  It was an agonizing and frustrating situation dealing with the different doctors and hospitals and through it all Lisa was always by his side, staying positive and certain they could beat this and planning their future together.

Then this last week Steve passed out at home and was taken to the hospital.  There  it was discovered that he had a large blood clot in his heart and placed in the I.C.U.  They were unable to operate and unable to move him anywhere else to seek the open heart surgery needed.  I'm heartbroken to say that within 2 days Steve passed away.  Lisa and their two boys are in shock.  They knew Steve was sick but they never expected to lose him like this, so suddenly; they were certain they had a future with him.

I'm sharing this because I've always been impressed with Lisa's cheerfulness and her way of always being willing to help others, often before herself.  If you know her I'm sure you've been impressed by this too.

Now Lisa is the one who needs help.  She and her boys will now face the costs of Steve's burial and then the medical bills that are coming after that.  I'd like to ask you to please help in any way you can, no amount is too small.  Please know that any amount donated goes directly to Lisa to help her with these expenses - Thank You
