"Journey" is an unusual novel set in pre-civil war, 1833, the wilderness and early settlements of New Mexico Territory. Journey, the leading character, is a sixteen year old girl of unusual origins raised by an Apache step-mother, banned from the tribe for adultery,and an Apache-Mexican stepfather, hunter-trackerby trade. Its background is slavery that depicts a story never before seen. I will benefit, of course, because this will help me to fund reading events and two-three tours to carefully selected cities.The funds will be used for travel, venues, rental chairs, and minimal refreshments for the audience. Journey has an official pub date of 3/7/2017. The first event will be March 12th, so the funds are essential within a week or so. The support means that
I'll have a novel of social importance, written as beautifully as anything I've ever written. I don't need to make a ton of money, but I would love to get the book into libraries and schools in deprived areas. I also think of it as an unusual story that may rise above racism and unjustice. It is by no means a political tract, but it may give folks a different point of view. I'd like to point out that publishers these days, unless you're Stephen King or Jodi picoult set aside very minimal funds to help a good book get out there. That's the purpose of this request.
