On Mother's Day 2015 Greg went to urgent care for what he thought was a stomachache, but by the end of the day it was confirmed that it was not a stomachache at all, it was Stage IV Colon Cancer. Greg was taken in for surgery that night to remove the mass from his colon and take a biopsy of his liver. The biopsy came back and unfortunately the cancer has spread to his liver. Almost a week later Greg got to come home and is healing up nicely after surgery. Yes, the surgery did impact his six-pack, but only slightly. :)
Tomorrow, Thursday, June 4th, Greg will go and meet with his oncologist for the first time. They will go over everything and come up with a plan of attack.
Greg is doing great and is staying super positive. He is ready for the fight of his life and is going to kick cancer's ass. He is so appreciative of all the love and support he has already gotten from friends and family. Jen has been amazing and is trying to keep everyone updated through a CaringBridge site. Check it out! She is a much better writer than I am.
This is where you all come in. Greg is gearing up for this long battle and we know it is going to be a tough one. We started this site to help support him and Jen with all the medical bills soon to come. We want to help make this battle a little less difficult by giving them some financial support to ease the burden. Please continue sending all the love and positive vibes this way and know that it means the world to Greg to have such amazing people in his life.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts,
The Michals and Chubb families
