Best described as Mama Maania among friends, Maania continues to demonstrate selflessness despite the uncertainty that lies ahead. If anything, her determination and resolve has grown stronger by the day. She is committed to living her life to the fullest and never misses an opportunity to encourage loved ones through her own inspirational journey. Always the first in line to give support, Maania continues to get involved in the life around her and only wishes to explore this clinical trial so she can hopefully find a cure for others--in addition to herself. She has proven to be a great source of strength and light for all those she encounters.
Always the last to ask for help, please join us in our effort to do the same for her as one of the most beloved members of our community.
Maania has enrolled in a clinical trial at Providence Cancer Center that could potentially save her life and thousands if not millions of others. Given that Maania’s hundreds of miles away from Portland, she must travel extensively back and forth between home and treatments for the next year to receive care. Please help us show Maania the love and support that she deserves as we stand up to cancer.

To learn more about Maania’s inspiring story and the form of cancer she is fighting, we encourage you to read below:
Maania was just 27 years old, recently engaged and planning her future like any young girl in her twenties when she was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive and rare type of thyroid cancer known as “poorly differentiated thyroid cancer”.
To no one’s surprise Maania faced cancer with continued grace and incredible resilience. She has undergone surgery, received the maximum dose of radioactive iodine therapy, and completed months of radiation despite enduring Grade 3 side effects. She married the love her life and has offered their home to three rescue cats and a senior dog rescue affirming her belief in second chances. She continued to work through her treatments, care for her family and friends while encouraging others around her to find resolve and hope in their problems as well.
Her love and dedication to keep fighting has inspired all those around her.
With a hopeful heart things were looking up, but the cancer had already managed to spread to her lungs. Unfortunately her type of cancer does not respond to traditional chemotherapy therefore she has had to search nationwide for clinical trials that will offer her another chance to fight this cancer.
To her joy and ours there have been several breakthroughs in medicine that offer us hope!
Through a new method of treatment known as “immunotherapy” Maania will be 1 of just 5 persons ever to receive this new treatment that prompts your own immune system to target the cancer, fight and kill it.
How has this approach come about? Well, when you cut a tumor in half, immune cells are present therefore we know the immune system knows something is wrong and responds to the cancer. However cancer will respond with a “no threat, stand down” command and shuts the own body’s response down. Through several infusions Maania will receive a treatment that turns her t-cells into aggressive bounty hunters with only one objective —to find and kill the cancer. Amazing!
With over 20 years of research into immunotherapy, the latest breakthroughs in the last 18-24 months have offered the most promising advances in cancer research we have ever seen. This treatment is not exclusive to her type of cancer, but could rather offer a cure to a host of cancers if not all. And it is now available to us.
Given that Maania’s hundreds of miles away she must travel extensively for the next year to receive care. Please help Maania get another fighting chance to beat this cancer and pave the way to save many more lives by enlisting herself in this groundbreaking next phase of research!
