Bringing my Family Home from Ukraine
Svitlana and her daughter
Tetiana, recently left their home in
Ukraine with Svitlana's sister-in-law,
Viktoria, and her niece, Darria. They
fled to Warsaw and are actively
navigating next steps day by day.
Upon arriving to Warsaw, I was able
to secure an AirBnb for two weeks.
Their current two-week rental ends
on March 19th. Living space/rental
properties are both extremely
limited and increasing in price as
millions flee to safety.
FACT: The hryvnia (Ukranian
currency) is presently equivalent to .03 USD.
Viktoria and her daughter (age 10) plan to stay in Warsaw at this
time. Viktoria's husband is still in Ukraine and they'd like to remain
close to home. Viktoria is actively seeking work in Warsaw and
recently had a job interview. The expat community in Poland has
already committed to helping them with groceries and some clothes/toys over the next three weeks which is incredible!
Svitlana and her daughter (age 8) are
working on making their way to Colorado,
where my family will host them. Svitlana
already has a visitors visa. Her daughter,
Tetiana, recently submitted a visa
application - currently processing. Next
steps will be dependent on the visa timeline (present goal is early April). They will stay
with Viktoria for the time being. Once the
visa is approved, flights will be secured to
Denver. Cost of flights will unfortunately
vary depending on the timeline and final
route. Any excess funding will be used for their arrival to the US and providing them with clothes and food.
The cost of getting them here is not cheap And I am so thankful for your help!!
