"Let’s Give Of Our Hearts For The Sake Of His"

Imagine being told at 18 that you’re going to need a new heart someday. Imagine meeting the love of your life and best friend at 21. Imagine that person sticking by your side through some really scary, unhealthy times. Imagine despite all these tough times, you still persevere through working and schooling to fulfill your dad’s dream of graduating college.  In past years, he was told he needed a heart but miraculously got better; thus causing him to want to go into the health profession, help other people and choosing to become a pharmacist.  Imagine having a son and doing all you can to show him what a good father is, what dedication is and how to have fun!  Imagine being almost ready to graduate as a pharmacist and being told, now is the time... you need a new heart!  That’s our Dan!!  He’s our friend, husband, father, son, brother, coworker, classmate, student, mentor, neighbor, and an inspiration to us all!!  

Now imagine your the love of Dan’s life. You meet him at age 18 and fall in love, all while knowing someday he will need a new heart. All while knowing this is and will be a tough road. You have your own health problems. You have your own work and school.  You both have a son and strive everyday to raise a happy, healthy and loved little boy. And despite all this, you selflessly support your husband and put your own goals on hold to be his pillar of strength.  That’s our Jill!!  She’s our friend, wife, mother, daughter, sister, coworker, classmate, student, mentor, neighbor, and a shining light to us all!!  

These two are strong. They are dedicated. They are caring. They are thoughtful. And they need us all now more than ever.  They are about to embark on a tougher journey than most of us can imagine. Endless stressful days and sleepless nights... Countless changes in their lives... Weeks in ICU... Multiple visits a week to the hospital... Gobs and gobs of costly medicines to prevent rejection... Around the clock care for months... Literally putting every other thing in their lives on hold to ensure Dan’s healing and good bond with his new heart.  All this while trying to not uproot their lives and maintain some sense of normalcy for their son and themselves. To do that, they need our help!  They need us to be strong. They need us to be dedicated. They need us to be caring and thoughtful.  

Let’s do every possible thing to help them pay their everyday bills while Dan is unable to work and go to school.  Let's do every possible thing to help them afford the necessary, costly medicines Dan needs to prevent his body from rejecting a new heart.  If they can have financial burdens lifted, they will be able to focus on Dan's care. If they can have financial burdens lifted, they will be able to focus on Finn and retaining some sense of normalcy in his life. If they can have financial burdens lifted, they will have one less stress in this amazingly trying time in all their lives!

Our goal is high but our love for Dan, Jill and Finn is stronger!  Please consider contributing any amount you can. Big or small, it all adds up!  Please share with any and all you know, whether they have the honor of knowing this family or not. It’s  going to take every ounce of love and support to be strong enough to support this family!  They’ve done it so long already... let’s be there for them at this pivotal time in their lives!
