Spring Forward Campaign

Greetings,

The staff and community of Forward Arts are seeking your help in providing arts integrated instruction to four public schools, through our Spring Forward donor campaign. The Spring Forward campaign will allow Forward Arts to bring its WordPlay Writing Project artist-in-residency program to McKinley High, Southeast Middle, Broadmoor High and Glen Oaks High at no cost to the schools.

Over the last eight years, the WordPlay program has been one of the nation's leaders in the field of youth spoken word, creative writing and arts integration. WordPlay has been able to service thousands of Baton Rouge youth through our in-school residency program, after-school writing workshops, monthly youth open mic and annual city-wide teen poetry slam festival. As it is our mission to provide learning opportunities and platforms for youth and adults through the arts, we come to you, our community, to assist us in continuing this mission.

We are seeking to raise $15,000 between December 9th-January 31st to support the cost of providing semester-long writing workshops to the aforementioned schools, as well to help offset the production cost of the eighth annual ALL CITY Teen Poetry Slam Festival. Please join us by making a donation to the Spring Forward campaign today!

With Gratitude,

Forward Arts, Inc.
