Hi! My name is Sophie, and I am in 7th grade.  On Monday, April 24, 2017, I qualified to attend the Global Round of the World Scholar's Cup in either Hanoi, Vietnam, Athens, Greece, or Cape Town, South Africa. 

The World Scholar's Cup is an international team academic competition. Teams of three compete in four different events: Team Debate, Scholar's Bowl, Collaborative Writing, and Scholar's Challenge (www.scholarscup.org). Students who qualify in regional rounds are able to attend a global round in which more than 3000 scholars from over 50 countries compete.

I am super excited about having qualified for the competition, but unfortuately, it is this summer, and there is no way that my mom can afford to take me without help.  We will have to pay for registration, airfare, hotel, and meals, and that will cost us about $7,000.

I would love any help you can give me!  I worked very hard to earn this honor, and I really want to represent my city and my school at one of the global competitions.
