My name is Heath R. Byrd and I am the EVP/CFO of Sonic Automotive and a member of the Board of Directors of the Sonic Automotive Family Emergency Fund (the "SAFE Fund") in Charlotte, NC. The SAFE Fund is a 501(c)(3) “public charity” formed in 2011 for the purpose of providing financial support to employees (and immediate family members of employees) of Sonic Automotive, Inc. and its automobile dealerships (“Sonic”) who are victims of natural disasters and/or medical emergencies.
Donations to this GoFundMe campaign will be withdrawn and deposited directly into the bank account of The SAFE Fund.
Sonic employees impacted by Hurricane Harvey will submit applications for grants to the SAFE Fund. The SAFE Fund Grant Advisory Committee has resolved that all financial contributions made to the SAFE Fund, via this Go Fund Me campaign, between August 29, 2017 and September 30, 2017, will be dedicated to financial assistance to Sonic Houston employees and their immediate families who have been impacted by Tropical Storm Harvey and the catastrophic flooding that has occurred in South Texas.
Upon approval of grant, funds will be provided to the recipient via wire or check.
