I am Chaplain Baker, an active/certified volunteer chaplain and citizen of Jamaica.
First, I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for not allowing malicious Melissa to annihilate our island in the sea, as some dared to predict, thus causing undue fear and stress.
Thank God, we did survive this, for the most part, but all damages and losses are not yet accounted for. We hope for the best.
I am appealing to the kindness and generosity in your heart, on behalf of my community here in Manchester, Jamaica, for help to alleviate some of the suffering and damages caused by the hurricane, malicious Melissa.
Our Goal:
Our goal is to raise $6,000 US, and if more is needed, I will scale up accordingly.
Please give whatever you can, for as we say here in Jamaica, every likkle mek a mukkle.
In any case, we need the whole amount as soon as possible. Please and thanks.
How funds will be used:
- To deliver food and clean drinking water to needy families in this rural community.
- To provide the necessary crisis intervention for families dealing with their losses at this time.
- To use the donations for labor needed to repair homes, for instance, where the roofs of some homes were destroyed by the hurricane, including part of one of the church building roof.
- To recover and try to restore what's left of the farms in the area.
PS: I'll post updates, with photos and receipts, so you can see exactly where your dollar goes, and in some cases, pictures of individuals who have been helped by your donations.
Thank you.
