Help Provide Quality Community Experiences
Donation protected
I have the privilege of supporting some really great adults who have developmental disabilities. In February, I was honored to be asked to spearhead a community experiences program for our male clients. These supported people get to experience things that we all take for granted through this program, such as dining in restaurants, attending concerts and sporting events, going bowling, playing bingo, touring museums, etc. Beginning in June, a female sister program to this one will be launching to serve the females that we support.
Currently, these community experiences have been limited to free or nearly free events. We currently have a wonderful family organization, ALFA, that raises monies to fund larger activities. But the program I oversee again focuses on more everyday routine experiences, again things you and I take for granted.
The proceeds from this effort will be donated directly to ALFA to be used in the community experiences program I described above.
Myself and my female counterpart really want to provide quality experiences to those we serve, so if this effort hits its goal, as a gesture I will walk from the front door of our facility known as "The Gardens" to the front door of our main office. This is a distance of just over 7 miles.
Thank you for your support.
