Stephen’s Voice for Med-Induced Suicide Awareness

Our family was left devastated when Stephen died on 29th July 2016 after suffering a catastrophic reaction to a commonly prescribed antidepressant.

Following Stephen’s inquest, we set up a Facebook page, Stephen’s Voice, in his memory to increase awareness around dangerous side effects of psychotropic medications, even when taken exactly as prescribed.

Last year on Stephen’s anniversary we launched Prescribed Harm Awareness Day. This year, to mark his 5th Anniversary we have organised a sky dive to raise money for RxISK.org

RxISK is owned and operated by Data Based Medicine Americas Ltd. (DBM), based in Toronto, Canada. It’s founder is from Ireland, Professor David Healy who helped us with Stephen’s inquest.

It is run by a group of high-profile medical experts with international reputations in early drug-side-effect detection and risk mitigation, pharmacovigilance, and patient-centered care.

RxISK was launched in October 2012 with the goals of educating and empowering patients to have better conversations about their meds with their doctors as well as supporting global prescription drug safety. Their mission is “Making medicines safer for all of us”

Thank you for reading and any donation, no matter how small, is so much appreciated
