We are the Skinner Family and we were victims of the recent Camp Fire in Paradise, CA.My wife went in to labor during the evacuation and was saved by EMS Chief Mickey Huber, so we named our daughter after him!We lost everything in the fire, so now we need to start the difficult task of finding a new home. With four kids, including the new baby, our new home needs to be big! Sharing rooms is difficult for our kids because we have two special needs children, our daughter has Autism and our oldest son has a brain tumor and Global Developmental Delay. So they both need their own separate spaces at different times. Our home that was lost was a bit of a safe haven for our children with special needs, with sensory friendly toys and areas as well as weighted blankets and pillows and even a yoga swing for them to climb in to and feel a gentle squeeze when needed!Like so many others we were completely unprepared for what happened and even despite HAVING insurance, we were underinsured!! So everything we will get is basically enough to pay off the old mortgage and have a down payment for a new house. We had no debris cleanup coverage and our vintage 1974 Chevrolet K20 we were restoring as a project for our 8 year old will not be covered at all since it was unregistered. Please help us find our new haven home!!Thank you so much for thinking of us.
