Single dad has lost everything in Cairns Floods

Evan has lost lost everything in the recent flooding in Cairns. Water rose in hours and his house was waist deep in water. He’s a tradie and his tools, home and Ute have all been lost after cyclone Jasper’s tail end dumped a record breaking 500mm rain in 24 hours over the Baron River catchment, flooding his and his 11 year old daughter, Lily’s home.

Over 2 METRES of rain fell in the 5 days leading to the biggest flooding since records began. Lily’s clothes, school books and Christmas presents have been lost.

Please help raise some funds to make this difficult time less painful. As with most people in Cairns, insurance is unaffordable and it was not covered as insurance companies quoted him $8840 a year for his single level home, we want to help Evan get back on his feet so he can get back to work as soon as possible with tools and his truck as he tries to rebuild his home for his daughter- as he is not the type of bloke to ask for help we have set up this fundraising page
