Simone Whitehead's Medical Care

On Friday April 22, Simone was admitted to Emory University Hospital's Liver ICU for acute liver failure. After multiple days of testing by a team of specialists, no specific cause could be definitively identified.

We are anticipating that Simone will be placed on the list for a liver transplant and that she would be the highest priority. Patients are referred to Emory hospital from all over the country for liver transplants and we are confident in the team of doctors, specialists, nurses, etc. that are caring for Simone.

The Whitehead family is so appreciative of the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time.  Many of you have offered to help by donating money to support their day-to-day needs; such as, housecleaning, laundry service, childcare, etc.  We can not thank you enough for your generosity and kindness!!

Any money the family receives will be used for keeping the household going both during and after Simone's stay at the hospital.    Truly allowing the family to focus on what is really important - each other.
