Help a Family Recover from Devastating Flood Damage:

My cousin and their family have been displaced from their home due to severe and unexpected flooding along the Green River. The floodwaters rose much higher than anticipated, breaching their home even after they had done everything they could to prepare. While they managed to get most of their belongings out and moved others to higher ground, the water still caused significant damage.

This is the second time in less than a month they've had to leave their home due to flooding. After the first evacuation, they spent a lot of money renting a storage unit to keep their belongings safe. They had just finished moving everything back when storms hit again, forcing them to repeat the entire exhausting process.

Surrounding neighbors have informed them that they are being quoted $100,000+ for damages and repairs.

Most have also told them they would also just be moving away from the area.

For my family members this is unfortunately not an option that will be available to them. With NO flood insurance they will have to make all repairs out of their pocket.

They have three young children, Hayley: 15 years, Jeffrey: 7 years, and Zachary: 5 years. They also have a few pets that they've had to find temporary homes for, and right now they're facing not only emotional stress but a financial strain trying to recover and repair their home. We're raising funds to help with immediate repair costs, replacing damaged items, and easing the burden of repeated displacement.
