LA Farm Hands PSHA Garden Fundraiser

My garden design business, LA Farm Hands, needs your help raising funds for our garden at the 2013 Pasadena Showcase Home for the Arts, April 21 - May 19, 2013.


Project:

LA Farm Hands is granted the honor of being chosen to take part in the 2013 Pasadena Showcase Home for the Arts (PSHA). PSHA is a not-for-profit corporation that raises money for their organization through an annual designer showcase. All proceeds from this showcase are used to fund and give grants to musically oriented programs throughout Los Angeles.

 

Here's how it works: 

Owners of a home in the Los Angeles area give up residence for 6 months, while carefully selected local designers redesign its interiors and exterior areas. For one month, the home welcomes the public to visit the redesigned home and gardens on display.

During that month, 30,000 to 40,000 guests visit the showcase home.

I've been chosen as a designer for this project, which is the most exciting project of my career. Thousands of people will be focused specifically on my design! 

But it's also nerve-wracking. And here's why: This being a charity event, participating designers are not paid for their designs.

That's right. No payment is given to the designer by the Pasadena Showcase Home for the Arts for the materials, products or labor to install the design.  I'm on my own to come up with the financing for this project.

That's why I hope I can count on you "“ please consider helping me by giving a donation of any size to help me fund my garden for the 2013 Showcase House.

  • Demolition/Site Prep. = $400.00
  • Amendments = $250.00
  • Hardscape = $250.00
  • Water Feature = $3,000.00
  • Bench = $900.00
  • Landscape Lighting = $1,800.00
  • Other Garden Elements = $500.00
  • Plants (and lots of them) = $4,500.00
  • Mulch Groundcover = $200.00
  • Event Advertisement (take-away fliers) = $1,700.00
  • Designer Events Surrounding PSHA = $500.00
TOTAL = $14,000.00

 

Reward Descriptions: 

Iron Level ($10): Every dollar counts! Support me at this level and get a named 'Thank You' on Facebook and Twitter.

Copper Level ($25): Support at this level gets you a die-cut LAFH logo sticker and a named 'Thank You' on Facebook and Twitter.


Bronze Level ($50): Support at this level and receive hand-made seed bombs filled with vegetable seeds, the LA Farm Hands logo sticker, and a named social media 'Thank You.' 


Silver Level ($100): Support me at this level and receive a limited edition (L.E.) canvas market tote bag featuring a special take on the LA Farm Hand logo.  Also get a sticker and a named 'Thank You' on social media. 


Gold Level ($300): Support at this level and receive the L.E. market tote bag and a named 'Thank You' on social media plus one of the following...  

1) 2 'Prime Time' tickets to PSHA (good for weekdays and weekends the showcase home is open) and a voucher for two drinks at the PSHA restaurant. 

OR 

2) A sketched vignette of the showcase garden with a personalized note of special thanks. 


Platinum Level ($500): Support at this level and receive the L.E. market tote plus two hours of garden and landscape design advice from Me. I will work with you to coordinate the most efficient use of our time.

Also, you will receive your choice of the following

1) 2 'Prime Time' tickets to PSHA (good for weekdays and weekends the showcase home is open) plus a voucher for two drinks at the restaurant. 

OR

2) A sketched vignette of the showcase garden with a personalized note of special thanks. 


Titanium Level $1,000): Support me at this level and receive both the tickets and the sketch items from the 'Platinum Level', plus a VIP invitation for 2 to a cocktail party at the Showcase home, thrown in your honor. Date TBD.
