The seniors of UACHS paid tribute to Shavon at their wonderful graduation ceremony on Thursday, 6/23. Some more funds were raised to cover the remaining funeral expenses, but once again, we are not there yet. Please donate and share to get us over the hump! Thanks!

About our campaign:
Kind, sweet, beautiful, talented, 15-year old Ms. Shavon Hill-Williams brought much positivity into this world. Unfortunately, she was taken from us tragically, suddenly, and unexpectedly on Friday, June 10, 2016, leaving her beloved mother, father, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and grandparents devastated. With an insurance policy that would not cover the hefty funeral expenses until it matured 5 months from now, Shavon's family is receiving support from her school, University Academy Charter High School, and YOU!
After attending Jersey City Community Charter School, Shavon came to UACHS and maintained good grades, was a member of the school choir and the Young Women's Leadership Academy. She participated in several community service initiatives like the Jersey City Day of Hope and also volunteered at the Starting Point of Hudson County Daycare. She had the voice of an angel and also volunteered her time to sing in Maurice Luke's Choir called The Bridge.
Shavon always had a hug and a kind word for everyone in her life, and it is our turn to return the favor. The Friends of UACHS is a non-profit organization that was created with the purpose to help the students of University Academy Charter High School, and we are calling on you to not only help her family with their expenses, but to also help the students of UACHS create an annual scholarship fund in her name. If there are any extra funds remaining, her family would like Shavon's name to live on in our school by helping other students pay for college. But of course, Shavon comes first, and we must help her family as they are a part of our UACHS family. Thank you for you time.
