Pregnant Mom killed by dad while sleeping in bed, and their 5 children were sleeping in other rooms.

Shaterica Anderson’s mother, Mrs. Narcisse-Ashton, never imagined she would become the sole caretaker of her five young grandchildren. Her world collapsed when her daughter, her rock, her beautiful child, was brutally murdered by the children’s father, Johnny Landry, as she was pregnant with their sixth child.

On their son’s 4th birthday, Johnny Landry shot pregnant Shaterica four times in the head, including two shots to the face. He left her body in the home with all five children present, leaving them at risk of discovering the unimaginable. Thankfully, they did not.

“Terica” was devoted to her family, her mother, her three brothers, and especially her children. She worked tirelessly, sometimes holding down three jobs, to provide the best life she could for them. Working remotely recently gave her the gift of more time with her kids. Her generosity extended far beyond her own family. She helped children she barely knew, offered rides to people who looked like they needed help, and even took out neighbors’ trash when she saw it sitting too long. Her kindness was instinctive. Her loss is immeasurable.

Shaterica was also a courageous survivor. She had recently come forward after being sexually assaulted by a law enforcement officer, someone who was supposed to protect her. She wanted her voice to inspire other women to speak out about their own abuse.

Johnny Landry has since been captured and sentenced to 30 years in a Texas prison for Shaterica’s murder.
