Sharon Strong

My name is Sue Fisher (Galea-Mentes) and my best friend, Sharon, was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) just before Christmas of 2015.  There is no cure (yet) for this vicious disease, but there is certainly hope that someday soon there will be.  I remember the fun we all had years ago doing the "Ice Bucket Challenge" but I have to admit that at that time, I didn't know anyone personally dealing with ALS.  It was such a hoot to pour ice over my head and to turn around and nominate others to do the same!  I do believe that campaign did raise awareness. However, it never occurred to me that this could happen to someone I love.  Sharon is one of the nicest, kindest, most giving, loving, compassionate and selfless person that I have ever known.  She does not deserve this for her future nor the financial burden that comes along with it. No one does.


I am asking for prayers and positive thoughts to be sent to Sharon and her family as they are all very affected by this diagnosis. If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, that would be wonderful, too! No amount is too small. All money will go directly to the Sharon Miller family to be used to help accommodate her changing needs and medical costs. It will also help her to maintain some form of daily independence.  She has such an amazing attitude and zest for living every minute of every day.  She sees the glass as half full and can still laugh at herself.  She is so strong...Sharon Strong.  Please help me give her the tools she needs to stay strong.
